The Aries AF-10-2015-BB combines ResinTech coconut shell granular activated carbon with 5 pounds of KDF-55 redox media in a 10-inch by 4.5-inch Big Blue format. This dual-media approach extends cartridge life significantly while removing chlorine, reducing heavy metals like lead and mercury, and inhibiting bacterial growth inside the filter bed.

Redox Media Treatment
Zinc-copper alloy media removes chlorine through oxidation-reduction, reduces water-soluble heavy metals including lead and mercury, and prevents bacterial colonization in the filter bed. KDF-55 also protects the downstream carbon from premature exhaustion.
Activated Carbon Adsorption
Coconut shell granular activated carbon bonds chlorine, volatile organic compounds, taste and odor compounds at the molecular level. The high surface area of ResinTech GAC provides effective chemical reduction for municipal and well water applications.
Standard Big Blue Housings
The AF-10-2015-BB fits all standard 10-inch by 4.5-inch Big Blue filter housings with 1-inch or 1.5-inch inlet/outlet ports. This size is commonly used for whole-house applications, well water treatment, and point-of-entry municipal water conditioning. Replace every 6 to 12 months depending on water chemistry, chlorine levels, and household flow rates.
